NOTE THAT YOUR ROPE DESHEATHS AROUND 5kN IN THE FUSE. A ROPE SOLO LEAD FALL CAN IN THEORY GENERATE 12kN DEPENDING ON THE FALL FACTOR, THE WEIGHT OF THE CLIMBER AND THE ROPE MODEL. The Fuse should therefore be used as a third hand backup device only. A knot closing the system is still mandatory. A barrel knot (double overhand) is recommended. Fuse Jammer
The Best LRS Backup Device! The Fuse Jammer is a screwed + glue-on accessory to the Edelrid Fuse. It adds the function of holding the rope weight so you can feed your cache loop. Too much speed and the Edelrid Fuse will grab your rope and help activate your primary device.
Compatibility
The Edelrid Fuse is rated for ropes 10-12mm. Yann Camus has made some tests with single ropes from 8.5mm to 9.8mm and results show friction of around 1.2 to 2 kN (Sterling 9.4 brand new condition) to “full stopping power” up to desheath some ropes over 5kN with:
- Beal Opera 8.5mm (used)
- Mammut Crag 9.5mm (used)
- Edelrid Caldwell 9.6mm (used)
- Maxim Glider 9.9mm (used)
It is recommended that you test with your rope (with a full backup) and report to us so we can share your results here with the public.
Safety Notice:
Important: Edelrid does NOT support this use for the device. Attempting to use this devices for LRS can be dangerous. The Fuse Jammer cam is NOT a safety item: it is just meant to support the rope weight up to around 10 kg. The Edelrid Fuse with the Jammer does not enhance their safety for solo climbing. Proper training is crucial – learn LRS from experienced professionals, always use a backup, and never rely on a single device for your safety.

Rigorous Testing of the PETG:
- Temperature Range: Tested for durability in temperatures from -20°C (-4°F) to 40°C (105°F).
- Heat Endurance: Withstood 2 hours at 85°C (185°F) to simulate extreme heat, such as in a hot car, with no damage (although we recommend not leaving gear in such conditions).

Aquaseal+FD Adhesive Instructions
Aquaseal+FD is a moisture-curing adhesive. For optimal results when using it with the GG Modifier, allow a 24-hour curing time.
To keep the unused portion from hardening in the tube, follow these steps:
- Eliminate Air Pockets: Squeeze Aquaseal to the tube opening to remove any air pockets.
- Seal the Threads: Apply a small amount of Vaseline on the threads before screwing on the cap. This creates an additional barrier against moisture.
- Store Properly: Place the sealed tube in a zip-lock bag and store it in the freezer.
When You’re Ready to Reuse Aquaseal: Simply let the tube warm to room temperature, or submerge it (still in the zip-lock bag) in warm water. It’s now ready for easy application!
